Recording of Ideas
Before the final plan for my advertisement about the book, I had another different idea on how to tackle the narrative.
First Idea
Target audience: Mainstream audience
Genre: Humorous
Narrative: A family is at home sitting on the sofa, watching television and at the same time, eating junk food like sweets, pop corn and drinking soft drinks. Suddenly there is an interruption and a flash news. It will be about the high rates of obesity and other related diseases and conditions in the world, mostly caused by unhealthy eating. They are shocked by the news and stop eating immediately. The mother runs to the refrigerator, takes out a lot of fruit and vegetables and comes back, takes the junk food from the others, and gives them the fruit and vegetables to eat instead. They are seen eating the fruit. We cut to black. Then there is a shot from the next day. The mother visits a bookshop and asks for a book about healthy eating. They give her this particular book. She goes home and starts reading the book. Later on she cooks healthy recipes from this book. She serves them for her family and they like them lot. They are all very happy as now they are eating in a healthy way. We cut to the book by the side, and then with a graphic and a voice over telling the name of the book and from where one could buy it.
Final Idea
Target audience: Mainstream audience
Genre: Informative
Narrative: In this version, there will be the use of a lot of graphics and some special effects. There will be a narrator who will be talking about her mother, and by this example, we will be explaining the main topics that the book deals with. She talks about how much her mother is fond of healthy eating, but at the same time, she loves sweet foods. Therefore, her daughter bought her this book as a gift, and now she keeps it as her favourite book and a guide on how she could cook healthy for her family. Besides having great recipes, this book is also very informative about the diseases and conditions caused by unhealthy eating. We will see a pan of the savoury and sweet dishes cooked and then we end with a graphic showing the book and its name.

Identification of Message
The message of the advertisement is the same as the message in the book itself, and this can really be identified easily, even from the book’s title, ‘Ultimate Foods for Ultimate Health: And Don’t Forget the Chocolate!’ The advert is simple, yet effective and with one aim; to pass the book’s real message.
Content
The advertisement will be made up of graphics and real filming. There will be graphics showing healthy and sweet foods, and then there will be captions when the narrator mentions diseases and conditions derived from bad eating habits. Then, we will end with a graphic showing the book and a caption telling the name of the book and from where people can buy it. There will also be some scenes showing what the narrator is saying in a visual way.
Style
The advertisement will be normal paced and normal but a little fast paced editing will be used. It will be very informative and explaining the main topics dealt with in the book very clearly, but at the same time entertaining by showing visual of what is being said by the narrator.
Relevance to Audience
The advertisement will be simple and one that everyone can relate too and find interesting immediately. It will be relevant for the targeted audience, and gives the necessary information that one might need to know before buying this particular book.
